🍽 Dinner Available: Picnic will start at 5:30 pm, and the meeting/program will start at 6:30 pm. For the Summer months, we will return to the White Deer Station at 145 Depot Road in White Deer for our meetings. We will have a Picnic Meal with the grill fired up, with the chapter providing the hot dogs and hamburgers, rolls, drinks, plates, and utensils. Members are requested to bring a side dish to share. All are welcome, please invite a friend and come out for a great program on Conrail by Fred Leer from the Harrisburg Chapter NRHS.
🎞 Evening Program: “Conrail Off The Beaten Track" By Fred Leer
“Conrail off the Beaten Track” by Fred Leer. Fred will present a terrific digital program of his slides taken in the 1976 to 1985 time period of the daily Conrail operations on the Corning Secondary around Waterville, Cammal and Slate Run, the Clearfield area on the coal branches, the Low Grade Secondary from Falls Creek to Philipston/East Brady + Sligo Branch, the Buffalo Line from Renovo to Eldred, the ex-PRR Erie Main from St. Mary’s to Corry and some classic shots from the Oil City area. Our sincere thanks to Fred for presenting this historic Conrail program on these once busy lines that are now almost all abandoned or sold off.
