📍 Location: White Deer Station
🕡 Meeting Time: 6:30 PM
🍽 Dinner Available: Picnic will start at 5:30 pm, and the meeting/program will start at 6:30 pm. For the Summer months, we will return to the White Deer Station at 145 Depot Road in White Deer for our meetings. We will have a Picnic Meal with the grill fired up, with the chapter providing the hot dogs and hamburgers, rolls, drinks, plates, and utensils. Members are requested to bring a side dish to share.

🎞 Evening Program: “Conrail at 50 Years, My Look Back.”

With the 50th anniversary of the founding of Conrail occurring this year, I’ll present a digital program on
Conrail’s operations in Central and Western PA and in NY. We will cover the Buffalo Line, the
Pittsburgh Line, the Harrisburg Line, the Lurgan Branch, and the Southern Tier of Conrail from
1976 to 1999. I’ve also added some rare Avis Branch photos and the Corning Secondary under
Conrail, as well as before its abandonment. You will also see the fallen flags of the Penn Central,
Reading, Erie Lackawanna, and Lehigh Valley in the early rainbow days of Conrail. Please
come out for a true Conrail program showing its birth from the ashes.
